For generations, parents have been giving their children scraps of paper to draw on. Sometimes these scraps are given to close relatives as gifts, a piece of artwork from the child as a mark of respect and effort on their part. Often though, these masterpieces are not in such a presentable format to be kept on show, although the artist and recipient would like it to be.




So in 2002, Gary and Margaret Raymond set about designing a solution to this problem in the form of a simple white card, with a printed image - like a frame of sorts.

Before long, family and friends were receiving cards like this from baby Oran (through their parents...Margaret and Gary!). They were a great success, and everyone wanted to know “Where did you get the card...?”.


So they set about producing cards like this for anyone who asked for them - and started to design new versions. Cards from Kids were born, so they simply called it:

For the child involved:

It is a fun readymade template, to facilitate and complement the masterpieces that kids already create by doing hand and footprints as a gift for others.

For the parent or guardian involved:

It is facilitating the sometimes perceived lost opportunity of "spending quality time" with the kid, creating that masterpiece together, providing a greetings card for either a specific occasion or just an out of the blue - spur of the moment activity. It is a relatively tidy activity. The parent is of course elevated in parental terms when "Granny" sees what a good little parent their kid really is!!

For the receiver of the card:

It is a timeless expression from the Kid - a snapshot in a child's life framed in a presentable format that could proudly grace any mantle piece respectably, or even be framed for wall hanging. It expresses how much effort has gone into the sending of the card (search, selection, purchase, and special activity of painting it, and the delivery), and is an acceptable "gift", innovative in the material used, and unique to the recipient. The "purchaser" is heaped with praise, as is the child artist.

About the Company

We are a company of card designers based in Co. Donegal, Ireland. We have all had the experience of getting our children to make a gift of a painting, or of making a birthday card for a loved one at one stage or another - sometimes with disastrous results!!



We think our cards are a great solution to the problem of messy artwork from kids, and the card becomes a timeless gift to the recipient. We all have received pictures that are very difficult to put on display on a mantle piece, or to frame, even though we'd like to. Everyone in the world is proud of kid's art, and kardzfromkidz lets us put their very special art on a well deserved pedestal in the form of the cards.
